Factors that affect Thermal Performance
A number of factors can effect thermal performance and increase
the risk of thermal breakage. Some of the factors that can affect
the performance of your glass include:
- Partial shading caused by building overhangs
- Interior shading caused by blinds, drapes, etc.
- Condition of the glass edge
- Type of framing
- Framing that comes into contact with materials that may cool
the glass edge more quickly than the center
- Air flow from cooling or heating vents
- Non-heat-treated glass
These risks can be estimated with NWI's computer-aided thermal
stress analysis tests. Our experienced support staff can help
you determine which factors might effect your project's glass, then
provide possible solutions to meet your glass requirements.
